EnviroDNA is a pioneer in commercial environmental DNA (eDNA) monitoring in Australia, delivering rapid, accurate measurement of species, biodiversity, and environmental change.
As part of an updated brochure-style website delivered on Web Force 5’s proprietary Continuum platform, I led UX and interface design to modernise EnviroDNA’s digital presence, improve clarity of complex scientific offerings, and reinforce credibility with government, research, and commercial stakeholders.

EnviroDNA operates at the intersection of advanced science, environmental policy, and applied commercial services. While the organisation’s expertise was well established, its digital presence needed refinement to better communicate:
The breadth and depth of its scientific capability
The practical application of eDNA across multiple industries
Trust, authority, and professionalism for decision-makers
The challenge was not conversion in a traditional ecommerce sense, but confidence: ensuring the website clearly conveyed leadership, rigour, and reliability without overwhelming non-technical audiences.
Discovery focused on understanding EnviroDNA’s audiences, including government bodies, environmental consultants, researchers, and industry partners.
Key insights informed the UX approach:
Users needed fast comprehension of “what eDNA is” and “why it matters”
Scientific credibility had to be visible without excessive jargon
Content needed to scale across multiple use cases, sectors, and services
Clear storytelling was essential to bridge research and real-world impact
These insights shaped content hierarchy, page structure, and navigation decisions.
The design strategy centred on clarity, restraint, and authority.
UX and UI decisions prioritised:
Clear articulation of services and applications
Structured content layouts to support complex information
A calm, professional visual language aligned to scientific excellence
Consistency across pages to reinforce trust and coherence
The Continuum platform was leveraged to deliver a flexible, maintainable brochure experience, with patterns designed to support future content growth without rework.
The site was delivered as an updated brochure design on Web Force 5’s Continuum platform, similar in capability to WordPress but tailored to agency-managed enterprise clients.
My role included:
Leading UX direction and interface design
Translating complex scientific content into accessible structures
Establishing design standards and templates
Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure fidelity and usability
Design leadership focused on pragmatic execution, ensuring the site was not only polished at launch but sustainable over time.
Scientific credibility
Design reinforced authority without visual noise or gimmicks.
Clarity of purpose
Users could quickly understand EnviroDNA’s role, value, and expertise.
Content scalability
Layouts were designed to support ongoing research, services, and insights.
Professional confidence
The experience aligned with expectations of government and enterprise audiences.
The result was a refined, authoritative digital presence that better reflects EnviroDNA’s leadership in eDNA research and application.
The updated website provides a clear foundation for communicating scientific excellence, supporting stakeholder engagement, and reinforcing trust across environmental, governmental, and commercial sectors.
This project demonstrates senior design leadership applied to complex, knowledge-driven organisations, where success is measured by clarity, confidence, and credibility rather than overt conversion metrics.
